GriefShare

Move from mourning to joy: new session begins February 7

When you’re grieving the death of a family member or friend, you may dread the holiday season. Thoughts of social gatherings, family traditions, and obligations leave you anxious and overwhelmed. What can you do to lessen your stress and loneliness?
McLane Church is hosting a GriefShare: Surviving the Holidays seminar, which offers practical strategies for making it through the holiday season. At this two-hour seminar, you’ll view a video featuring advice from people in grief who’ve faced the holidays after their loss. You’ll hear insights from respected Christian counselors, pastors, and psychologists. And you’ll receive a Holiday Survival Guide with practical strategies, encouraging words, helpful exercises, and journaling ideas for daily survival through the holiday season.
At GriefShare Surviving the Holidays, you’ll meet with other grieving people who have an understanding of what you’re going through. They won’t judge you or force you to share, but will accept you where you are and will offer comfort and support.
Join us in person or online. Go to griefshare.org/holidays to register.

Losing a loved one can be devastating. The process of grieving is different for everyone, and it often takes longer than we expect. We begin to wonder “Will I ever get through the pain of my loss?”

GriefShare uses professionally produced videos that can help you and others in the group move through your grief and find hope for the future. Participants will find comfort in sharing their journey with others who are dealing with their own loss. The videos provide information on what to expect during your grieving. The leaders of your group are compassionate people who have experienced loss in their own lives. They will provide a safe place for you to open up and experience healing and comfort.

Cost: $20 This payment will be collected at the first meeting for our daytime in-person group when you receive your workbook. For our online group, you will place your book order with GriefShare online at the time of your registration.

Childcare: Childcare cost reimbursement is available. If needed for you to be able to attend GriefShare, your group leader will provide information.

When to start: You are welcome to start coming at any time during the program. Each session is self-contained and does not rely on having attended prior weeks.
