New Sessions Coming to McLane Church Soon

When you’re grieving the death of a family member or friend, you may dread the holiday season. Thoughts of social gatherings, family traditions, and obligations leave you anxious and overwhelmed. What can you do to lessen your stress and loneliness?
McLane Church is hosting a GriefShare: Surviving the Holidays seminar, which offers practical strategies for making it through the holiday season. At this two-hour seminar, you’ll view a video featuring advice from people in grief who’ve faced the holidays after their loss. You’ll hear insights from respected Christian counselors, pastors, and psychologists. And you’ll receive a Holiday Survival Guide with practical strategies, encouraging words, helpful exercises, and journaling ideas for daily survival through the holiday season.
At GriefShare Surviving the Holidays, you’ll meet with other grieving people who have an understanding of what you’re going through. They won’t judge you or force you to share, but will accept you where you are and will offer comfort and support.
Join us in person or online. Go to griefshare.org/holidays to register.

Each year, McLane Church hosts several sessions of GriefShare, including Loss of a Spouse and Surviving the Holidays. Watch this page and our social media to learn when the next GriefShare event will be held at our Edinboro location.

Losing a loved one can be devastating. The process of grieving is different for everyone, and it often takes longer than we expect. We begin to wonder “Will I ever get through the pain of my loss?”

GriefShare uses professionally produced videos that can help you and others in the group move through your grief and find hope for the future. Participants will find comfort in sharing their journey with others who are dealing with their own loss. The videos provide information on what to expect during your grieving. The leaders of your group are compassionate people who have experienced loss in their own lives. They will provide a safe place for you to open up and experience healing and comfort.

To register or learn more: Visit the GriefShare website and enter your zip code. You will find our group meetings as well as other upcoming GriefShare groups in your local vicinity displayed.
