Childcare Reimbursement

Locations

We are pleased to make funds available to our McLane Church parents who want to attend a small group but find that the cost of childcare puts a financial strain on their budget. The goal of our childcare reimbursement plan is to help members and regular attenders of McLane Church engage in a McLane small group. If you do not have a church home, we invite you to join McLane Church. We understand that families make childcare decisions differently. So we provide 2 reimbursement options, an individual family option or a group option. The Frequently Asked Questions reflect these options.

Frequently asked Questions:

  • Family Option: We reimburse parents of McLane Church who are attending a small group and wish to have childcare in their own homes. We do not pay babysitters directly. We do not send a 1099 form for miscellaneous income to the recipients of child care reimbursements. Parents are responsible for hiring a trusted childcare provider.
  • Group Option: If you would prefer to bring your children to the meeting and have childcare for the entire small group, we will reimburse one parent from the group for that childcare need.
  • Many McLane families have found it beneficial for their children to be together during their small group time. By having a childcare provider to provide for their safety, the adults can have uninterrupted time, designed to ensure the health of the group.
  • Yes. We understand that families make childcare decisions differently based on what is best for their children.
  • We reimburse only one parent for the group option. That parent should fill out the Group Reimbursement Form, using their family ID #.
  • A family whose children (or some of their children) are not part of the group time, but who still require childcare, should fill out the Family Reimbursement Form.
  • We will reimburse for children ages 12 and under.
  • Family option: We reimburse at a rate of $8/hour for up to 3 hours for each small group meeting. Please be aware this includes your travel time to and from your group meeting. If your group meets more than once per week, we will only reimburse for one meeting each week. The rate at which we reimburse you may not necessarily reflect the full amount that you pay your childcare provider.
  • Group option: We reimburse only one parent from the group at the predetermined rate of $10/hour per childcare provider up to the ratio of:

1 Adult to 3 Children: Infant-3 years of age
1 Adult to 8 Children: 4-12 years of age

up to 3 hours for a single small group meeting. If your group meets more than once per week, we will only reimburse for one meeting each week. The rate at which we reimburse you may not necessarily reflect the full amount that you pay your childcare provider.
  • We will reimburse parents for participation in one small group per season. We believe that committing to multiple small groups has the potential to do more overall harm than good to the family, especially families with young children.
  • A McLane Church small group.
  • Reimbursement requests should be submitted during the month the childcare is used. Requests may be made after each meeting or all at once at the end of the month, whatever is easier for you. The final day for submitting your request is on the 15th and last day of the month. Reimbursements will be mailed twice a month.
  • Reimbursements will be sent to the name and address on the registration form. (If you move, you may request an address change to our McLane Church database through the reimbursement form or by calling the GroupLife office. 814-734-1907 ext. 40)
  • The money for this ministry comes from the generous tithes and offerings of McLane attendees. It is possible that at some point in the future we will find it necessary to adjust, suspend, or discontinue this financial assistance due to circumstances.
